U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin Supports Call to Award Officer Eugene Goodman with Congressional Gold Medal
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin joined a group of bipartisan colleagues led by Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Chris Coons (D-DE), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Ben Cardin (D-MD) to sponsor legislation to award Officer Eugene Goodman with the Congressional Gold Medal to honor his heroic actions on January 6, 2021. Goodman confronted rioters in the Capitol, delaying their access to the Senate chamber and protecting the lives of those inside.
“Officer Eugene Goodman bravely put himself in harm’s way to defend our Congress from the violent insurrection on January 6.
