WISCONSIN, KENTUCKY SENATORS OFFER FRIENDLY WAGER ON NCAA FINAL FOUR GAME

Washington, D.C. – Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin (WI) today announced a friendly wager with Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul of Kentucky on the outcome of Saturday’s Wisconsin Badgers game in the NCAA basketball Final Four against the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The stakes are a selection of Wisconsin bratwurst and cheese against Kentucky Derby-Pie® from Kern’s Kitchen in Louisville.

Sen. Johnson said, “Senator Baldwin and I will enjoy eating some pie for dessert as we celebrate a Badger victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.”

“I never imagined that Bucky Badger would bring me together with Senators Johnson, Paul and McConnell,” said Sen. Baldwin. “I look forward to enjoying some Kentucky Derby-Pie® when the Badgers win, but it’s a shame that Mitch and Rand won’t get a taste of our famous Made in Wisconsin brats and cheese. Maybe if they do ‘The Bucky’ dance  after our victory, we will reconsider.”

“Sen. Paul and I look forward to tasting Wisconsin brats and cheese, courtesy of Senators Johnson and Baldwin, as desserts following UK’s victory over the University of Wisconsin on Saturday,” Senator McConnell said. “There is no disputing that the Commonwealth of Kentucky is the college basketball capital of the world and Sen. Paul and I are proud to watch the Wildcats continue their NCAA tournament run.”

“The Cats are on a roll and Big Blue Nation can't wait to celebrate another win this Saturday. I know I will enjoy Kentucky's victory even more by celebrating with Wisconsin brats and cheese. Fear the tweak, Ron and Tammy,” Sen. Paul said.
