Senator Baldwin Leads Bipartisan Letter to FAA Administrator Requesting Air Traffic Services at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh

Washington D.C. -- U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin today sent a letter, signed by a bipartisan group of 27 of her colleagues, to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael P. Huerta requesting that the FAA provide essential air traffic services at the 2013 EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis. and other major aviation events around the country.

Senator Baldwin and the bipartisan group of her colleagues expressed their concern about the FAA’s decision to begin charging major aviation events for air traffic services, particularly AirVenture. EAA’s AirVenture attracts over half a million people, is the single largest gathering of the general aviation community and serves as the biggest general aviation sales event in the U.S - producing an estimated $110 million economic impact each year for Oshkosh, the Fox Valley community and Wisconsin.
