Senate Judiciary Committee Votes to Confirm James Peterson’s judicial nomination
Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to confirm James Peterson’s judicial nomination for the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. The nomination will now move to the Senate floor for a vote. A six-year vacancy for this judgeship has been a top priority for Tammy since she was elected to the U.S. Senate last year.
“I am proud to have worked across party lines to get the job done on this nomination. Jim Peterson will make an outstanding federal judge, and his bipartisan confirmation by the Senate Judiciary Committee marks an important step forward in providing Wisconsin with highly qualified public servants who will work hard for them in our judicial system.” - Senator Baldwin
