Watch: The #NextGen Google Hangout with Senator Baldwin
On Thursday, September 26, Senator Baldwin and some of the best and brightest from Wisconsin came together for Tammy's first 'Google Hangout' to officially introduce The Next Generation Research Act --- new legislation she authored to strengthen America’s commitment to the next generation of research, science, and innovation.
The Next Generation Research Act will create a new initiative within the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve opportunities for the next generation of researchers. The legislation will also promote current and new policies aimed at improving opportunities for young scientists and conduct a comprehensive study on the best possible ways our country can establish the next generation of research.
Joining Tammy for the #NextGen Google Hangout, were:
- Ian Lock, bone cancer survivor from Fond du Lac, Wis.
- Sarah Wessel, Ph.D. Candidate, Department of Biomolecular Chemistry, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
- Jess Feldman, Ph.D. Candidate, Department of Biomolecular Chemistry, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
- Dr. Joseph E Kerschner, Dean of the Medical School and Executive Vice President, Medical College of Wisconsin.
